Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the renowned actor, recently revealed that she has been suffering from a fever and lost her voice due to the hectic promotional schedule of her upcoming mythological romantic drama, "Shaakuntalam." The actor has been travelling extensively across the country for the film's promotions.

On Wednesday, Samantha took to Twitter to share her health condition with her fans, saying, "I was really excited to be amongst you all this week promoting my film and soaking in your love. Unfortunately, the hectic schedules and promotions have taken its toll, and I am down with a fever and have lost my voice." The actor has asked her fans to support the team of the film.

Samantha's fans have shown concern and wished for a speedy recovery for the actor. One fan requested her to take her time to recover, while another stated that her health is more important than anything else. Yet another fan showed support, saying that they will always be there for her.


"Shaakuntalam" is a mythological romantic drama based on the popular play, "Shakuntala," by Kalidasa. The film follows the love story of King Dushyant and Shakuntala, who got married according to the Gandharva system. The movie, which stars Dev Mohan opposite Samantha, is set to release in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada on April 14 in both 3D and 2D.
