People have been eagerly waiting to watch Sam Bahadur, which is Vicky Kaushal’s latest biopic. With Vicky’s realistic resemblance to the protagonist has caught everyone’s attention.

Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur is all set to be released in the theatres next year. This film is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw, who was a Field Marshal. Vicky has a lot of resemblance with Sam which has caught the public’s eye. This movie by RSVP is directed by Meghna Gulzar. This is not the first time Vicky and Meghna are working together. She has also directed the movie Raazi in which Vicky played the role of the protagonist. The filmmakers announced today, 1 December 2022, that the film will be released exactly one year from today, i.e. 1 December 2023.

The production house dropped a clip from the movie today on its official Twitter account. It was captioned “365 days to go…#Samबहादुर in cinemas 1.12.2023.” The clip showed Manekshaw amidst his troops and walking away from the camera with his back towards it. In the movie, Sam’s wife, Silloo is played by Sanya Malhotra, and India’s ex-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s role is played by Fatima Sana Shaikh.


Vicky’s Sam Bahadur is based on the life of India’s one of the most prominent war heroes - Sam Manekshaw. He served in the army for over 4 decades and fought in 5 wars in the course of his service. No other Indian Army Officer was promoted to the rank of Field Marshal before Manekshaw. He played a major role in the Indo-Pak war of 1971. Bangladesh was created as a result of this war.
