Salman Khan's birthday: Fans lathi-charged by cops after crowd becomes unruly outside Bollywood star's house

Salman Khan marked his 57th birthday on December 27. After a sea of fans gathered in front of the actor's Mumbai home, the superstar's celebrations had taken on a grand scale.

On his special day, some fans carried his banners and posters while others shouted upbeat proclamations. The actor had just greeted fans from his balcony when the crowd grew out of control.

Salman Khan also approached his home's balcony to greet his fans while being accompanied by his father, Salim Khan. Salman even posted a picture of himself on Instagram waving at his followers and thanking them for their unwavering support.


But as the crowd grew louder and more boisterous toward the end of the actor's birthday celebration, things started to get violent, and the police had to step in and push everyone away.

The police had to use a lathi charge on some of the crowd after it became out of control to push them back. On camera, they can be seen fleeing while the police beat them with sticks and take their shoes and other possessions.

The day before Salman Khan's birthday, the actor hosted a lavish party that was attended by a large number of celebrities. Many celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, his brothers Sohail and Arbaaz, sister Alvira, Sangeeta Bijlani, Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, Suniel Shetty, Riteish and Genelia, and others, were seen arriving at the actor's home for the festivities.
