Salman Khan says he is happy not marrying, hopes to have kids someday; recalls father Salim Khan’s advice on Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan

Salman Khan recently appeared on the couch for the ninth and final season of Karan Johar's popular chat show, Koffee With Karan. During the conversation, the actor opened up about his decision to remain unmarried, his thoughts on fatherhood and his approach to keeping his personal life private. He also revisited his viral “I’m a virgin” remark from his 2014 appearance on the show.

The final season of Koffee With Karan began streaming on JioHotstar on Wednesday, with Salman as its first guest. The conversation covered several topics, including marriage, loneliness, fatherhood, his loyal fan base and his friendships with fellow actors.

Salman Khan Opens Up About His Decision Not To Marry

At the beginning of the episode, Karan mentioned Salman's close friend Aamir Khan getting married for the third time. Responding to the news, Salman said, "I'm happy for him."

When Karan asked about his own marriage plans, the 60-year-old actor kept his response brief, saying, "I'm doing fine."

The conversation then turned to Salman's personal life, with Karan asking, "Are you still a virgin?" referring to their discussion on the show in 2014.

Salman laughed before explaining the context behind his earlier remark. "That was a way of saying, 'Karan, I don't want to talk about it.' Because you keep on saying that you're dating so and so... But I never want to talk about it."

Explaining why he has preferred to keep his relationships private, Salman spoke about how uncertain the future can be when it comes to relationships.

"You never know that this is the person who is going to be in your life for the rest of your life. And that person goes ahead and marries somebody else. So I always had this in my head since I was 15-16," he added.

The actor also recalled advice from his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, about maintaining a clear boundary between public and private life.

"My father said, 'Ye personal life bedroom hai aur living room puri country hai. Jo aap living room me bol sakte ho, wo puri country me bolo. Aur bedroom ka hai wo living room tak nahi aana chahiye.'”
