Sachin Tendulkar shares his own ‘blue tick verification’ on Twitter after fan raises questions, leaves internet in splits

In a not-so-unusual move by Twitter Boss Elon Musk, the micro-blogging platform began to remove legacy blue checkmarks. It removed the previously verified status from several celebrities who did not pay for the new Twitter Blue service - it included Virat Kohli, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and our Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar among many others.

One fan on Twitter asked Master Blaster about this change on his profile. Seeing the blue tick absent, the internet user asked, "Now that, you don't have the blue tick, how can we be sure that you're the real Sachin Tendulkar? (laughing emoji) #AskSachin" while Sachin Tendulkar organised a QnA session on the platform - #AskSachin.

The 49-year-old legendary cricketer was quick to reply to the fan's question and thus he responded with a picture of himself saying, "As of now, this is my blue tick verification!"




Master Blaster's witty reply gained a significant reach and currently boasts 3.8M views on the platform with 61K likes, and about 2.8K RTs, at the time of writing.

Twitter Verified on April 20 unfollowed over 400k previously verified "legacy profiles". Twitter Boss Elon Musk's Twitter Blue has been both criticised and joyed by users. In India, it starts at Rs 900 per month on iOS, while the same starts at Rs 650 per month on the Web.
