Sachin Tendulkar invites PM Narendra Modi to Arjun Tendulkar–Saaniya Chandok wedding

Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on Tuesday to personally invite him to the wedding of his son, Arjun Tendulkar, and Saaniya Chandok. The couple got engaged in August last year.

Sharing the update on X, Tendulkar wrote, "We were honoured to invite Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji to Arjun and Saaniya's wedding. Thank you, Modi ji, for your blessings and thoughtful advice for the young couple."

Arjun Tendulkar’s IPL Journey

Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini-auction, Arjun was traded from Mumbai Indians (MI) to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and is set to represent LSG this season.


MI initially signed Arjun during the IPL 2021 mini-auction for Rs 20 lakh, though he did not play that season. He was retained for Rs 30 lakh in the IPL 2022 mega-auction and finally made his IPL debut in 2023, claiming three wickets in four matches.

Before IPL 2024, Hardik Pandya took over the captaincy from Rohit Sharma, and Arjun featured in just one match that year. In the IPL 2025 mega-auction, he went unsold initially but was later picked up by MI at his base price of Rs 30 lakh in the accelerated round. However, he did not get an opportunity to play that season.

Career Stats and Domestic Cricket

The 26-year-old all-rounder has appeared in five IPL matches for MI, taking three wickets while conceding 114 runs. He has also scored 13 runs in his IPL career so far. Arjun currently represents Goa in domestic cricket after making his debut for Mumbai in 2021.
