Sachin Tendulkar asks ChatGPT to help plan family trip, reveals how he uses the AI tool

Sachin Tendulkar has entered into a partnership with OpenAI, bringing the cricket legend into a new association with ChatGPT. Announcing the partnership, Tendulkar said he has already used the AI tool for practical tasks, including planning a family trip, while also turning to it to satisfy his curiosity and explore new ideas.

Tendulkar announced the partnership on X, writing, “I’m excited to announce my partnership with OpenAI. We have some interesting things coming up, and I can’t wait to share them with you.” He said his natural curiosity often means that one question leads to another, and that ChatGPT has encouraged that habit while also helping him with things he needs to get done.

From curiosity to planning family trips

Tendulkar said his use of ChatGPT extends beyond simply asking questions. He recalled using the tool while planning his last family trip, describing it as useful for practical tasks as well as exploring topics that interest him.

“That’s what I’m looking forward to with this partnership. Discovering what else I can do with ChatGPT, sharing what I find useful, and encouraging more people to give it a try with something they care about,” he wrote.


The partnership is intended to showcase ways people in India can use AI in their personal and professional lives, including learning about interests, developing ideas and tackling more complex problems. OpenAI has described it as a multi-year partnership involving content, campaigns and experiences featuring Tendulkar and his use of ChatGPT.

Sachin Tendulkar challenges ChatGPT to guess his identity

Tendulkar also shared a video demonstrating one of his interactions with ChatGPT. In the clip, he challenges the AI tool to guess who he is, giving it a maximum of 10 questions.

“Hey, ChatGPT. Let’s play a game. Can you guess who I am? But you only have ten questions?” Tendulkar asks.

ChatGPT accepts the challenge and begins narrowing down the possibilities, first asking whether he is famous in India. As the exchange continues, the questions lead the AI towards cricket before it eventually identifies him as Sachin Tendulkar.

After getting the answer right, ChatGPT tells Tendulkar, “Sachin, do you wanna see what we can do together? We’d make a great team.”

Tendulkar responds with a cricket reference: “Der kis baat ki? Toh phir innings shuru karein?”

The video forms part of the partnership announcement and reflects the way Tendulkar says he has been experimenting with ChatGPT.

Tendulkar encourages people to start with a question

Tendulkar also urged people to explore AI through something simple, whether it is a question, an idea or a subject they have always wanted to understand.

“A question, an idea, something you’ve always wanted to explore. There are so many places to start. Looking forward to exploring together,” he wrote.

According to OpenAI, the collaboration draws on Tendulkar’s own experience with ChatGPT, which began after his daughter Sara introduced him to the tool while the family was planning a holiday. He now uses it for preparation, personal interests and organising and refining ideas.

Social media reacts to Sachin’s new AI partnership

The announcement also prompted humorous and congratulatory reactions online. One user asked whether ChatGPT would automatically complete a familiar cricket phrase if Tendulkar started saying, “ee vediya bat ka grip”.

Several users congratulated the former cricketer on the partnership. “Congratulations, Sachin paji, on the partnership with OpenAI,” one person wrote.

Another commented, “Thank you for showing light.”

A cricket-themed reaction said ChatGPT had identified Tendulkar in 10 questions, while fans had still not found “another like you” decades after his career began. The user described the partnership as a new “innings” for the cricket legend.
