The clip, just eight seconds long, shows the wreckage engulfed in smoke, with charred debris scattered across the crash site. Large clouds of smoke are seen rising from the fuselage, which appears to have caught fire after impact.
Aircraft vanished from radar mid-flight
The aircraft, identified as an Antonov-24, was flying from Blagoveshchensk to Tynda in Russia’s Far East when it disappeared from radar. The crash site was later confirmed by local officials. In a post on Telegram, regional governor Vasily Orlov wrote, "The Antonov-24 plane disappeared from radar as it headed to the city of Tynda, a town in the Amur region bordering China, from the city of Blagoveshchensk."
The plane never reached its destination.
There were no distress calls reported before the aircraft went off the radar. Emergency teams located the wreckage in a remote area of forest where access is limited and conditions are harsh.
Crash location close to Chinese border
The Amur region, which borders northeastern China, is known for its vast stretches of wilderness. The debris was found far from any major settlement. The aircraft’s final location was pinpointed only after hours of search and coordination between local authorities and aviation teams. The crash has left many in shock, particularly because of the presence of children on board. The flight was domestic, connecting two towns in a region where air travel is often the only practical mode of transport.
While the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, officials are expected to look into flight records, weather data, and technical reports. No official statements have been released by Angara Airlines so far.
