The incident came to light when Pritam’s manager, Vineet Chheda, realised that the cash, which was kept in the office for work-related purposes, had gone missing.
How did the theft happen?
According to Chheda’s complaint at Malad Police Station, the money was brought to the office a few days ago. He received the amount and kept it there while an employee, Ashish Sayal, was present.Chheda then left for Pritam’s house to get some documents signed. But when he returned, the bag containing the money was gone.
Who took the money?
Other office staff told Chheda that Sayal had taken the bag, saying he was going to deliver it to Pritam’s house. However, when Chheda tried calling Sayal, his phone was switched off.Chheda then went to Sayal’s residence, but he was missing.
Police investigation underway
After this, Chheda filed a complaint at Malad Police Station. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.Further details are awaited.
