RRR Sequel: 'Naatu Naatu' Oscar win will “accelerate” the script of film's sequel, says SS Rajamouli

SS Rajamouli's ‘RRR’ has made Indian cinematic history by winning an Oscar and a Golden Globe. ‘RRR’s song “Naatu Naatu” won Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards, composed by MM Keeravani and written by Chandrabose.

As the team celebrated the win in Los Angeles, the film’s director, SS Rajamouli, was asked about the sequel to 'RRR,' to which he replied that with such a positive response and an Oscar, the process will be sped up.

SS Rajamouli attended the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party with his cousin, MM Keeravani. According to a report, it was asked to him that if he would start working on the film’s sequel now that it has won an Oscar.




SS Rajamouli laughed heartily and then said, “Obviously, Oscar success will have an impact on the timeline. Definitely, yes, but we will see”.

Last year, SS Rajamouli revealed that he has no plans to make a sequel to the film because he has run out of ideas. However, after the film became a worldwide success, Rajamouli reconsidered his decision.

According to reports, the director has also asked his father to start working and broaden the scope of his ideas right away. He said his father is currently working hard on the story and getting it finished. However, once this script is completed, they will investigate how to make it, when to make it, and how to bring it to the screen.

‘RRR’ stars NTR Jr. and Ram Charan, as well as Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Shriya Saran in key roles. After attending Vanity's after-party, the 'RRR' team had a private celebration in Los Angeles.
