The Ministry of Railways has released the tentative schedule for the Computer Based Test (CBT-1) for Non-Technical Popular Categories (Under Graduate) under CEN 07/2025, with exams set to be conducted in multiple phases across May and June at centres nationwide.

The recruitment process will be carried out by Railway Recruitment Boards as part of an ongoing drive to fill various non-technical positions in Indian Railways.

RRB NTPC 2026 exam: CBT-1 exam dates and phases

As per the notification, the CBT-1 examination will be held on May 07, 08 and 09, followed by additional phases on June 13, 14 and from June 16 to June 21.


Candidates will be able to check their allotted exam city and date through an official link that will be activated 10 days prior to their respective exam dates. The same portal will also provide travel authority documents for eligible SC and ST candidates.

E-call letters and entry rules

E-call letters will be issued four days before the scheduled exam date. Candidates must carry the admit card along with valid identification proof to gain entry into the examination centre.

Aadhaar-linked biometric authentication will be conducted at the venue. Candidates are required to carry either their original Aadhaar card or a printout of an e-verified Aadhaar document.

Aadhaar verification guidelines

Authorities have advised candidates to ensure their Aadhaar details are accurate and updated, including name, date of birth as per Class 10 certificate, photograph, address and father’s name.

Candidates must also ensure that their Aadhaar remains unlocked in the UIDAI system on the day of the examination. Even those who completed Aadhaar verification during the application process have been asked to recheck their status to avoid delays.

Warning against fraud and misinformation

Railway Recruitment Boards have urged candidates to rely only on official websites for updates and cautioned against fraudulent agents promising jobs in exchange for money.

Officials reiterated that the recruitment process is strictly based on the Computer Based Test, with no alternative selection methods.
