The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced the recruitment of 8,860 Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts for the fiscal year 2025-26 across various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways. The official notification for the graduate-level NTPC posts was released on 20 October 2025, with online registration beginning from 21 October 2025 on the official portal https://www.rrbapply.gov.in/.

NTPC 2025 Vacancies


The recruitment includes both graduate-level and undergraduate-level posts. For graduate-level posts (CEN 06/2025), a total of 5,810 vacancies have been announced, while the notification for undergraduate-level posts (CEN 07/2025) will be released on 27 October 2025. Eligible candidates must have completed 12th standard or hold a graduate degree from a recognised university or board.


Graduate-level posts include Station Master, Goods Train Manager, Traffic Assistant, Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, and Commercial cum Ticket Clerk.

Undergraduate-level posts will cover similar roles with specifics announced alongside the upcoming notification.

Registration dates for the graduate-level posts are from 21 October to 20 November 2025, while registration for undergraduate-level posts will be open from 28 October to 27 November 2025.

RRB NTPC 2025: Age limit


Age limits differ for the two levels: candidates for graduate posts must be between 18 and 33 years, while those applying for undergraduate posts must be between 18 and 30 years.



NTPC 2025: Application fees and refund details


The online application process has closed. The application fee for General and OBC candidates was Rs. 500, of which Rs. 400 will be refunded after appearing in the first stage Computer Based Test (CBT), subject to bank charges.

For SC/ST/PWD/Women/Ex-Servicemen/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward candidates, the fee was Rs. 250, refundable after the first stage CBT, less applicable bank charges.

Selection process and exam pattern


The selection for graduate-level posts involves a first stage CBT, second stage CBT, and where applicable, Typing Skill Test or Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). Specific posts like Senior Clerk cum Typist and Junior Account Assistant cum Typist require a typing test, while the Station Master post includes CBAT.

For undergraduate-level posts, the process includes two CBTs and a typing skill test where applicable.

The exam languages include English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Final selection is based on merit through the various stages, followed by document verification and medical examination.
