The RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 application window has been opened by the Indian Railways and the Railway Recruitment Boards have started registration for 22,000 Group D vacancies. The online application process for RRB Group D Recruitment 2026 Level-1 posts will close on March 2, 2026, at 11.59 pm. The recruitment is being carried out under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 09/2025 by the Railway Recruitment Board.

The Indian Railways aim to fill 22,195 Level-1 vacancies across different railway zones and production units through this recruitment drive.

Eligible candidates can apply the RRB Group D recruitment on its official website: rrbapply.gov.in. Candidates must submit their applications before March 2, 2026 (11:59 pm). The registration process was earlier scheduled to begin on January 21 but was postponed.


The recruitment drive seeks to fill 22,195 vacancies across different railway zones and production units for Level-1 posts under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix. Candidates selected for these positions will be placed in Level-1 with a starting basic pay of ₹18,000, along with applicable allowances as per rules.

RRB Group D Recruitment 2026: Eligibility and selection process

Candidates must be 18 to 33 years old as on January 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories as per government norms.

Applicants must have passed Class 10 (High School) from a recognised board.

For some technical or trade posts, ITI certificate holders may be eligible as per post-wise criteria.

The selection procedure includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for shortlisted candidates.

RRB Group D Recruitment 2026: Application fees

Application fee is ₹500 for General, OBC and EWS candidates.

Application fee is ₹250 for SC, ST, PwD candidates and all women applicants.

The selection process includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and a Medical Examination.

Candidates must qualify each stage to be considered for final appointment.
