RRB extends 2025 application deadline: Check new date and free modification window

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has extended the application deadline for the recruitment of Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts by 10 days. Candidates can now apply until December 10, 2025 (11:59 PM). The last date for payment of the application fee has been extended to December 12, 2025.

RRBs have announced an increase in vacancies at the Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala, under RRB Jammu-Srinagar, and the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, under RRB Chennai. The total number of vacancies has risen to 2,588 from the earlier 2,569.

Modification options before deadline

RRBs have stated that candidates who have already applied may modify their chosen RRB and their preference of posts, zonal railways and production units within the opted RRB without any modification fee. This facility will be available from November 25, 2025, until the extended closing date of December 10, 2025. Candidates can make these changes using their existing login credentials.

Application modification window

A separate modification window will open from December 13 to 22, 2025, during which candidates will be required to pay a modification fee for changes. During this period, candidates will not be allowed to alter details entered during the account creation process or change the chosen RRB.

PwBD candidates who require a scribe must submit their scribe details between December 23 and 27, 2025, through their respective RRB portals.

Other terms unchanged

RRBs have clarified that all other terms of the original notification remain unchanged. Candidates have been advised to stay alert and avoid individuals making false promises of securing jobs in exchange for illegal payments. The recruitment process is fully computerised and merit-based.
