Rose Day 2023: History and significance of the first day of Valentine's week
Rose Day 2023: A look at the date, history, meaning, and everything else you need to know about the unique day.

As we prepare to celebrate Rose Day, here's a look at its date, history, and significance:
Date:
Rose Day is recognized every year on February 7. On this day people give roses to the person they love to express their feelings. However, it is not necessary to merely give a rose to the spouse. We can also give a rose to our parents or a friend who we love unconditionally. We can also buy roses for ourselves as a mark of self love.
History:
Roses were a sign of mystery and passion in Roman mythology, particularly in relation to Venus, the Roman goddess associated with beauty and love. Perhaps because of their delicious scent and attractive hues, roses have been associated with love in eastern civilizations such as Asian and Arab cultures. It is often believed that Victorians were the first to display their love for one another by presenting roses as a token of their affection. Since that time, the giving and receiving of roses has been commemorated annually on February 7 as “Rose Day.''.
Significance:
While red roses are the obvious choice for Valentine's Day, there are different flowers that may be given to those we care about. White rose represents innocence and
purity, while the yellow rose represents friendship and the thrill of new beginnings. Orange roses, on the other hand, are used to indicate yearning, while pink roses are used to express appreciation and thanks. Blue Rose on the other hand symbolises mystery or accomplishing the impossible.
