The alleged wrongdoer, identified as Abhimanyu Arjun Gupta, who goes by the alias Rinku, is no stranger to the law, with a history of criminal activities. He was taken into police custody on Monday.
The vehicle owner, blissfully unaware of the impending threat, had left his car unattended. Inside the vehicle, a bag held a significant amount of money, alongside precious gold and diamond jewelry. Upon returning to the scene after a three-hour absence, the car owner was confronted with a disheartening sight - a shattered car window and the conspicuous absence of the bag, along with its invaluable contents.
Promptly responding to the situation, law enforcement agencies initiated a swift investigation, employing CCTV footage from the vicinity and leveraging technical evidence to trace the alleged perpetrator. Their efficacious efforts resulted not only in the identification and apprehension of the suspect but also the successful recovery of the stolen assets, amounting to a staggering Rs 24 lakh.
This arrest has brought to the fore the extensive criminal record of the accused. He is associated with numerous cases filed against him at police stations across various districts, including Navi Mumbai, Palghar, and Thane.
