RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, wife Rajshree announce birth of their second child; Check details

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and his wife on Tuesday announced that they were blessed with a baby boy at a private hospital in Kolkata.

Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar assembly, took to social media to share the news. "Good Morning! The wait is finally over! So grateful, blessed and pleased to announce the arrival of our little boy. Jai Hanuman!" he posted on X. He also posted a photograph of the baby boy.

According to a family member, the baby was born in a private hospital in Kolkata where Rajshree was admitted for the last few days.


West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also visited the hospital in Kolkata and met Tejashwi Yadav. Talking to reporters outside the hospital after meeting Tejashwi, Banerjee said, "This is very good news...Lalu ji and Rabri ji are here and they are also very happy. I wish peace and happiness to the family of Tejashwi. Elections are also approaching in Bihar, I wish him best wishes. My best wishes are with Tejaswhi."

Later, the RJD supremo also shared photographs of the baby boy on his lap and wrote on X, "Proudly welcoming little grandson in our family!"

This is their second child. Tejashwi and Rajshree Yadav welcomed their first child, a daughter, in March 2023.

Tejashwi's sister Rohini Acharya took to social media to congratulate her brother.

"Welcome tutu junior. Today a new little member Bal Gopal Junior Tejaswi has arrived in our family's courtyard. Hearty congratulations to dear sister-in-law Rajshri - brother Tejaswi, dear Katyayani as well as our entire family and the entire RJD family. May our family always be filled with happiness and may Papa and Maa's courtyard be filled with laughter...Special congratulations to Papa and Maa," she posted on X.

Tejashwi's elder brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, who was recently expelled from the party by their father Lalu Prasad, also expressed his elation over becoming 'Bade Papa'.

He wrote on X in Hindi, "With the grace and blessings of Shri Banke Bihari Ji, I have become 'Bade Papa' with the arrival of the new baby boy. Hearty congratulations and best wishes to younger brother Tejaswi and Raj Shri Yadav...My blessings and love to my nephew."

RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Sunday expelled Tej Pratap Yadav from the party for six years for "irresponsible behaviour", and snapped all family ties with his elder son.
