Rishabh Pant accident: Here’s why Kapil Dev wants to slap young cricketer once he recovers completely

In a lighthearted statement, Indian cricket veteran Kapil Dev claimed that he wants to slap wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant as soon as he heals from the injuries he got in that dangerous mishap.

In a video, Kapil Dev said that Pant's absence had left the Indian squad in shambles. That’s why he added that he wants to slap him when he is fully recovered, just like parents have the right to do so when their kids act inappropriately.

Pant is now out of action owing to significant injuries that he sustained in a terrible car accident on December 30. His car nearly caught fire when it collided with a barrier while en-route to Dehradun to visit his mother. With the help of two truck drivers, he managed to exit the vehicle barely in time. Later, he was transferred from a local hospital to Max Hospital in Dehradun.





Since his accident, Pant has had many operations as he sustained numerous burns during the accident. After having his knee operated on, Pant is now healing from various wounds. Since it would take him some time to get back to match fitness, Pant is expected to miss at least six months of activity during his recuperation.

Pant will miss the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is crucial for India as they sought to qualify for the World Test Championship final. Apart from this, he may also be absent from the IPL in 2023. His injuries are a major blow because the ICC Men's ODI World Cup is slated to take place in India later this year.
