DFS officials discovered that the restaurant lacked adequate means of escape during the rescue operation, leaving all occupants stranded on the first floor. Prompt examination of the matter led to the agency's decision to suspend the fire safety license (FSC) of the place, which was initially issued on December 14, 2021.
Due to their preliminary findings, the department is set to conduct a comprehensive review of the availability of means of escape and other relevant parameters and conditions of the FSC. Until the license is renewed, the restaurant is prohibited from operating in the interest of public safety.
Delhi Fire Services received a distress call at 5:42 am on Sunday; responding swiftly, fire-fighters successfully rescued the trapped individuals by breaking a glass window on the first floor and using ladders to bring them to safety.
