Republic Day 2023: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to provide coupons to commuters travelling to Kartavya Path for celebrations
DMRC will issue coupons to commuters travelling to Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan and Mandi House metro stations to attend the Republic Day celebrations held at Kartavya Path on January 26.

The announcement was made by DMRC on its official twitter handle stating that the coupons will be issued to the commuters who have the bonafide e-invitation cards/ e-tickets for attending the Republic Day celebrations on January 26 at the Kartavya Path. These coupons can be collected at any metro station, as per the announcement by DMRC.
While the coupon allows people to travel from 4:30 AM to 8:00 AM to the specified metro stations, they would be able to leave only till 2:00 PM. Attendees to the Republic Day celebrations have also been advised to carry a government-issued photo identity card while taking metro tickets.
The Republic Day celebrations will begin with Prime Minister Narendra Modi offering his tribute to the fallen soldiers at the National War Memorial situated in the national capital which will be followed by the unfurling of the National Flag by President Droupadi Murmu.
As every year the nation’s military power, culture and diversity will be on full show at the Republic Day celebrations but this time the seating arrangements have been slightly different with only 45,000 seats left, after the renovation of Rajpath, which is now known as Kartavya Path.
This year Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi will be the chief guest for the Republic Day celebrations held in New Delhi. The formal invitation to this was sent to the Egyptian presidency on October 16, 2022 by the External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
Republic Day is celebrated every year on January 26 to mark the day on which the Indian constitution came into action back in 1950, when the Indonesian President Sukarno came to India as the chief guest.
