Relief for Madya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan? IMD predicts thunderstorms and rains for this week

"Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds speed reaching 40-60 kmph likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana Chandigarh & Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and isolated to scattered rainfall over Rajasthan during 04th-10th May," said the daily bulletin.
For May 5, thundersquall with wind speed reaching(50-60kmph) very likely at isolated places over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha and likely at isolated places over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi. Hailstorm is expected at places over Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Odisha and Uttarakhand.
The IMD has issued similar weather alerts for several other states as well. In western India, districts across Maharashtra, Goa, and Gujarat are expected to witness light to heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds reaching up to 50 km/h. The department said, “Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning, and strong winds with speeds of 30-40 km/h, gusting up to 50 km/h, is likely over Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada till May 8.”

Temperatures dropped noticeably across several parts of Maharashtra on Sunday, including Pune, where weather stations in Pashan, Lohegaon, and Shivajinagar all recorded highs below 40°C. Pashan saw the sharpest decline with a dip of 3.3°C, while Lohegaon — which had touched 43°C just two weeks ago, the season's highest — cooled by 1.5°C. Shivajinagar also reported a drop of 1.3°C.
