Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G: Xiaomi India unveils the Redmi Note 15 5G and Redmi Pad 2 Pro. Both devices offer extended software updates and AI capabilities. Sales begin January 9 for the smartphone and January 12 for the tablet.

Commenting on the launch, Sandeep Singh Arora, Chief Business Officer, Xiaomi India, said the company is focused on building products that add value to users’ daily lives. He added that the Redmi Note 15 5G sets new benchmarks in durability and performance, while the Redmi Pad 2 Pro is positioned as an all-round productivity and entertainment device.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 5G: Key specifications and features
The Redmi Note 15 5G sports a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3,200 nits peak brightness.For photography, the device packs a 108MP main sensor on a triple camera setup. A 20MP front camera with auto field-of-view adjustment handles selfies and video calls.
The smartphone is powered by a 5,520mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 18W wired reverse charging.
Under the hood, the phone runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and ships with Android 15-based Xiaomi HyperOS 2. Xiaomi has promised four years of Android updates and six years of security updates, with future support for HyperOS 3. The device also supports Google Gemini and Circle to Search.
It comes with reinforced internals, SGS-tested durability based on MIL-STD-810H methods, and an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance. The phone also features Hydro Touch 2.0, allowing the display to remain responsive even when wet.
The device will be available in Black, Glacier Blue and Mist Purple in 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB variants starting January 9. Pricing starts at Rs 22,999.
Redmi Pad 2 Pro
According to the company, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro targets users looking for a large-screen device for work, study and entertainment. It features what Xiaomi claims is the world’s largest 12,000mAh battery in its segment, with 33W fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging.The tablet is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Mobile Platform and features a 12.1-inch (30.73cm) 2.5K display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and 120Hz AdaptiveSync. The screen supports Dolby Vision, DC dimming, and protection for comfortable long-term viewing.
For audio, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro comes with a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos. It runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 2 and offers ecosystem features like Home Screen+, Shared Clipboard, Call Sync and Network Sync.
Xiaomi has committed to five years of software updates and seven years of security updates, with support for HyperOS 3 in the future.
The tablet also supports Google Gemini, Circle to Search, and up to 2TB expandable storage via microSD.
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro will be available in Silver and Graphite Grey in 8GB + 128GB (Wi-Fi and 5G) and 8GB + 256GB (5G) variants starting January 12. Pricing starts at Rs 24,999.
Accessories and productivity features
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro supports the Redmi Smart Pen for note-taking, sketching and document annotation, along with the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Keyboard, which converts the tablet into a lightweight workstation for typing and multitasking.
