Realme 16 5g teased with 7000 mAh battery and rear 'selfie-mirror'; Check expected price, launch date and other specs

Realme India has officially teased the launch of the Realme 16 5G, a device housing a 7,000mAh battery capacity. By employing a proprietary "AirCraft Structure" characterized by tighter internal component stacking and high-density silicon-carbon battery cells, the manufacturer has reduced the device's profile to 8.1mm while maintaining a weight of 183g. The announcement marks a shift in the brand’s design language, moving toward a "Gleaming Wings" aesthetic and introducing a physical mirror integrated into the rear camera housing to facilitate high-definition selfies via the primary sensor.

Realme credits the ergonomics of the 16 5G to its new AirCraft Structure, which focuses on higher energy-density battery cells to eliminate the bulk typically associated with large-capacity devices. Despite the 7,000mAh battery, the phone measures 8.1mm in thickness, aiming to provide multi-day usage without the heavy footprint of traditional big-battery phones. The company noted that the battery supporting 60W charging and fit in a 183g lightweight frame.

The Realme 16 5G features a specialized "mirror camera" approach, incorporating a small circular mirror on the rear module to serve as a viewfinder. This design allows users to utilize the 50MP Sony IMX852 main camera for selfies rather than relying solely on the front-facing lens. On the exterior, the device debuts the "Gleaming Wings" finish, a multi-layered gradient that produces a blue-gold shifting effect under light. The back panel is further treated with an anti-fingerprint, skin-friendly coating.

Realme 16 5g Display and Colors

The smartphone is equipped with a 6.57-inch display featuring ultra-narrow bezels and rounded edges, designed for one-handed comfort. The display will have 4500 nits of brightness. Media reports indicate the device may house the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset. For photography, the rear setup includes the 50MP Sony main sensor and a 2MP monochrome sensor, while a dedicated 50MP camera is positioned on the front for standard video calls and selfies. The mobile is IP69 supported to withstand external pressures. The chipset will be availble in air white and air black colors.

While Realme has not yet released the final sticker price, it is expected that the Realme 16 5G price in India to fall within the ₹18,000 to ₹22,000 segment to remain competitive with existing big-battery rivals. The expected launch date is slated for the last week of March 2026, following the current teaser phase on official social media channels and major e-commerce platforms. Official confirmation regarding storage variants and specific bank offers is anticipated closer to the reveal event.
