The role has been written specifically for Kardashian, who joins Emma Roberts in the outing. For the first time in the series' history, the season will be written and run by a single writer, Halley Feiffer, as per a report by Hollywood Reporter.

According to ‘American Horror Story’ co-creator Ryan Murphy, Kardashian's well-received hosting gig on Saturday Night Live in 2021 impressed him, and they started talking about creating a unique role for her in the series. The upcoming season of ‘American Horror Story’, titled Delicate, is based on Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel, Delicate Condition. The novel is a gripping thriller. It talks about a woman, who thinks that someone is trying to make sure her pregnancy never occurs. It is similar to the story of Ira Levin's 1967 novel and the 1968 film, Rosemary's Baby. Author Andrea Bartz has described Delicate Condition as “the feminist update to Rosemary’s Baby we all needed”, as per the report.

Kardashian's role in ‘American Horror Story’ is her most high-profile acting job to date, and it is not uncommon for the series to feature A-list celebrities.
