Real-life 'Nayak': MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan suspends official over negligence; watch video

In 2001 Bollywood film 'Nayak: The Real Hero' Anil Kapoor played the role of a journalist-turned-politician, who became the chief minister of Maharashtra for one day and left everyone awestruck with his quick actions. Though such things do look good on celluloid, they might not be feasible in real life. But there are times when our real-life politicians surprise everyone with their swift actions, taken during crucial times.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, wasted no time in punishing an official for negligence on Friday. The official was suspended on the spot over negligence in implementing the Centre's Ujjwala scheme.

The incident happened during the Chief Minister's visit to the Dindori district yesterday, when he reviewed the progress of various schemes under government departments.

While asking questions about the schemes, the CM asked District Collector Ratnakar Jha how many camps were organised under the Chief Minister's public service campaign. He further probed the government officer about how many officers were there in the team. To this, the Collector replied that 125 camps had been organised in the district so far.

As the Chief Minister continued with his question, another government officer named Tikaram Ahirwar was called on stage by him. The CM directed the Collector to hand over the microphone to Ahirwar and inquired as to why the required number of Ujjwala scheme cards had not been made on time. The government officer gave a few replies, but the Chief Minister didn't look happy. In the end, when the CM didn't get any satisfactory reply from the officer, he suspended him-right there, on the spot.

Commenting on CM's quick action, one Twitter user commented "this type of leadership we want to make our india more better."
