Ravi Kishan’s first portrayal of Lord Rama
Ravi Kishan’s appearance as Lord Rama at Delhi’s Ayodhya Ki Ramleela drew attention as the country celebrated Dussehra and the triumph of good over evil. Videos from the event showed the actor arriving in a grand chariot before performing on stage as the Hindu deity.Speaking to the media, Ravi said he was happy to get the opportunity to portray Lord Rama for the first time. Although his association with Ramleela began in Ayodhya, he had never played the character before this year’s performance.

The actor expressed hope that Lord Rama would guide his performance and help him bring the character to life on stage.
From playing Sita in childhood to portraying Lord Rama
Before taking on the role of Lord Rama, Ravi Kishan had performed as several characters from Hindu mythology during his childhood. These included Parshuram, Kevat and Mata Sita. He recalled that his early Ramleela performances were closely connected to his ambition to become an actor.Ravi said he came from a humble background in a village near Banaras, where his father was a priest, but he had wanted to pursue acting since childhood. Playing Sita in Ramleela was among the experiences that helped him follow his passion for the performing arts.
