Ranveer Singh is the new brand ambassador of Pepsi

PepsiCo, the beverage company, has named actor Ranveer Singh as its brand ambassador and launched a new campaign aimed at younger consumers as it prepares for a long summer, which could boost sales of cold drinks.

Ranveer Singh joins the growing list of celebrity endorsers for Pepsi. Salman Khan joined the brand in 2019. It has also recently announced popular Kannada actor Yash of KGF fame as the brand's new face. A prominent female actor could soon join Pepsi’s summer campaign, “Rise up Baby”, which is currently running.

PepsiCo India’s category lead for Pepsi Cola, Saumya Rathor stated, “Rise up Baby is a youth movement that we are bringing to life in various flavours. So, one flavour is the Ranveer explosion, and there will be another burst from a Yash perspective, which is scheduled for a March end release”.


She explained why she chose Ranveer Singh as the new brand ambassador: “His personality and irrepressible spirit stands for the brand ethos—be it being effortless, audacious, or having the courage to be your true self”.

Ranveer Singh reportedly had a brand value of $158.3 million and saw an improvement in brand rankings in 2021. After cricketer Virat Kohli, Singh had the second-highest brand value in the rankings. Singh has 45 brand endorsements.

With a long summer season predicted, the company hopes to recruit new consumer cohorts with the new brand positioning while also strengthening the brand's distribution. When asked about the brand's plans for the upcoming IPL season, Rathor stated that the company is in discussions with various stakeholders.
