Rani Mukerji opens up about the purpose of "Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway"

Rani Mukerji, who is presently engaged in promoting her upcoming social drama, ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway,’ said that the purpose of this film is bigger than merely commercial success.

At a recent promotional event, Rani and the movie's producer, Nikkhil Advani, spoke with renowned director Karan Johar about the film. She said that the aim of the film is to increase public awareness of the difficulties parents face on a daily basis when they relocate outside of their place of origin.

Rani said that the idea for her portrayal of Mrs. Chatterjee came from her mother. She emphasised the value of maintaining roots and drew on her mother's life lessons to give her part depth and authenticity.


The movie is based on a true story, and the makers also released its official trailer, which has already gotten a huge amount of positive feedback from the audience.



The trailer opens with a shot of Mrs. Chatterjee (Rani) enjoying her time in Norway with her spouse and their two kids, Shubh and Shuchi. However, the family soon faces a problem when uninvited authorities from the nation's child protection agency enter their home and abduct their children.

She discovers later that her children were taken from her and placed in foster care after the authorities determined that their parents were unable to properly care for them. In the second half of the trailer, Rani is seen battling the Norwegian foster care system to regain custody of her kids.

Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway was directed by Ashima Chibber, and was produced by Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment. It is set to be released in theatres on March 17.
