Ranbir Kapoor says no to remakes of dad Rishi Kapoor's movies

Ranbir Kapoor has openly expressed his unwillingness to do remakes of old films, including his dad's.

Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is firmly against a few things. He doesn't want to do multi-starrer films. He doesn't want to star in remakes. And what's more, he doesn't want to star in remakes of the classic Bollywood films his dad Rishi Kapoor did.

A report in the Entertainment Times said he even turned down an offer from good friend Ayan Mukerji who wanted to do a remake of "Khel Khel Mein" which featured in the lead roles his father Rishi Kapoor and his mother Neetu Singh.

In this case, the reason was not just his dislike for remakes but also that he did not want any comparisons with his dad.

Ranbir has also turned down many other offers for remakes. The report quoted his friend as saying that he even distanced from filmmaker friend Siddharth Anand when the latter insisted on him doing a remake a remake of "Knight & Day," a flop film which had Tom Cruise in the lead.
