Ranbir Kapoor reveals ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2’ plan with Ayan Mukerji; Know more here

Is there a sequel happening to Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s romantic drama Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani from 2013? The original film had a pretty definite ending but the second part could have a good story twist, on which director Ayan Mukerji has been working on.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor has revealed that Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2 might just happen after two years! He says that Ayan has been working on a script and might lock it.

What did Ranbir Kapoor say about Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2?

While speaking to fans in an interaction post the success of his recent release Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, Ranbir Kapoor said that he thinks "Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani would make a good sequel," adding that "Ayan also had a very nice story" before he got involved in Brahmastra. But "never say never. He might make it after a couple of years," said Ranbir, sounding hopeful.

How would Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2 take the story forward?

Ranbir thinks the story will take a leap of 10 years to show where the four lead characters of Bunny, Naina, Avi and Aditi were in their lives. "It'll be quite interesting and nice to explore those characters," said Ranbir.

In 2018, Ranbir said that Ayan and he "have often spoken about Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2".

The 2013 film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani starred Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin in the lead. It remains to be seen if Deepika Padukone will be keen to star in the sequel.

Apart from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen with his wife Alia Bhatt in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra 2 and 3 next.
