Ranbir Kapoor very candidly admitted the mistakes that were made during ‘Shamshera’. He also admitted to the loopholes that existed in his performance.

Donning a heavily bearded look, this appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival was his first post becoming a father.

Shamshera marked Ranbir's return to the big screen after a four-year absence. It was released in July of this year, ahead of his September release, Brahmastra, which was a hit.

Ranbir described Shamshera as "the hardest project" he has ever worked on, telling Deadline, "It was a massive box office catastrophe, but the worst error I made on Shamshera was that I glued on a beard. When you're filming in the heat and have a beard on, it feels like your face is melting".

Ranbir also discussed his "another disaster," Jagga Jasoos, a 2017 film he produced and starred in, alongside Katrina Kaif. The film was delayed significantly and failed to meet its box office forecasts. "It's a film I created," he explained.

“It was a labour of love. Anurag Basu directed the film. It was a very uplifting and nice premise, but it didn't do well, which stung a lot," he said, adding, "That's the one film in my career that affected me."

In response to numerous Bollywood films' poor performances, Ranbir stated that the "entire tradition of coming to a cinema for a communal watching of a movie seems to be fading, and it's just there for the big ticket flicks." He, on the other hand, expressed optimism that the Hindi films will soon rebound the book with good storytelling.

Ranbir's most recent film, Brahmastra, was his first with his wife Alia Bhatt. They fell in love while working on the film a few years ago and married months before its release. Raha, their daughter was born last month.
