Ramnaresh Sarwan resigns from his role of a West Indies selector
Citing personal reasons, Ramnaresh Sarwan who captained West Indies Cricket resigned as a selector for the Senior and Junior Men’s selector of Cricket West Indies.

Jimmy Adams, the former captain of the West Indies team and also a famous left-handed batsman had only nice words about Sarwan. He understood Sarwan’s commitment to the game and would miss him as a selector and is disappointed that Sarwan cannot continue. Jimmy, the Director of Cricket of West Indies hopes that Sarwan would be available for the Caribbean team in the future.
Needless to say, the website of the CWI doesn’t state whether the new entrant into Sarwan’s shoes would be the selector of both the senior and junior selection panel. The legend Desmond Haynes and the current head coach Phil Simmons are the main selectors presently.
The current West Indies team is on tour in the Netherlands for the ongoing ICC world cup team qualifiers. The top 7 teams of the world qualify directly to the world cup, of the 13 teams. The West Indies rank 10th currently and would have to qualify for the 50 over World Cup coming up in India next year.
