The Rameshwaram Cafe has officially initiated its highly anticipated Mumbai expansion with a four-day public trial phase commencing today at the iconic Eros building in Churchgate. Following weeks of intense speculation and social media buzz, the Bengaluru-headquartered South Indian chain is offering complimentary food experiences to the public ahead of its formal commercial launch scheduled for later this month. This strategic preview allows the city's residents to navigate the brand's first large-format outlet, which integrates traditional quick-service roots with contemporary seated dining and professional workspaces tailored for the Mumbai market.

The Rameshwaram Cafe Mumbai: Public Food Trial Dates and Timings

Mumbaikars looking to experience the brand's "taste and tradition" can participate in the exclusive food trials starting Monday, March 2, 2026. According to an official social media announcement, these sessions will run for four consecutive days, concluding on March 5. The Rameshwaram Cafe Signature Menu

First-time visitors can expect the brand’s hallmark dishes that have garnered a national following. The menu features the famous ghee podi idli and authentic filter coffee, alongside a wide range of traditional South Indian staples. Catering to Mumbai’s diverse dietary preferences, the café has also introduced a Jain version of the puri bhaji. In this specialized variation, the standard potato-based vegetable is replaced with banana, a common vegetable substitute in South Indian culinary traditions.

Strategic Location at the Historic Eros Building

The choice of location at the Eros building in Churchgate places the café in the heart of Mumbai’s heritage and transit hub. This move is expected to attract a high volume of daily commuters, students from nearby colleges, and tourists. By opening during the period of Holi celebrations, the café aims to capitalize on the festive atmosphere, positioning itself as a primary destination for both casual diners and food enthusiasts eager to compare the Mumbai experience with the original Bengaluru outlets.
