Ramadan 2023: Know when to sight crescent moon and iftar timings
In India, Ramadan 2023 is expected to start from 22 March, Wednesday. Find out the time to see the crescent moon and the timings for iftar.

During this period, Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, and doing anything that is harmful from dawn until sunset. They also fast during this time, pray for peace and guidance, engage in charity work, and participate in humanitarian activities. The fast is broken at sunset with a meal called Iftar, where family and friends come together to share a meal.
The new moon for Ramadan may be visible without requiring telescopes or binoculars, if the skies are clear in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Pakistan, and South Africa. If the new moon is visible, people will start fasting from 23 March. If it's not visible, the first day of fasting will be on March 24.
