Rama Ekadashi Importance

Rama Ekadashi holds immense religious and spiritual significance as it occurs during the auspicious month of Kartik, which is dedicated entirely to Lord Vishnu. Devotees who observe the fast on this day are believed to be relieved of all sins and sufferings. This Ekadashi is also known as Rambha Ekadashi and Kartik Krishna Ekadashi.

According to the Tamil calendar, Rama Ekadashi falls in the month of Purattasi, while in Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh, it occurs during Ashwina or Ashwayuja. Devotees participate in fasting and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu with deep devotion and commitment. It is believed that observing this Ekadashi can absolve individuals of serious sins, including Brahma Hatya (the killing of a Brahmin), and lead them to salvation. The observance of Rama Ekadashi Vrat is considered equivalent to performing thousands of Ashwamedha Yagyas.
