Ram Setu Box Office Collection, Day 2: Akshay Kumar's movie doing well

Akshay Kumar, who recently rued about his bad luck during Kapil Sharma's show, seems to have turned his fortunes around with Ram Setu. The movie, which was released on October 25, had a fantastic opening day and continued to do well on its second day. So far it has earned Rs 26 crores in net box office collection, including its first day collection of Rs 15 crore.

Directed by Abhishek Sharma of "Tere Bin Laden" fame, the action adventure drama also features Satyadev, Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha.

The film revolves around an atheist archaeologist-turned-believer, Dr Aryan Kulshrestha (Kumar), who must race against time to prove the true existence of the legendary Ram Setu before evil forces destroy the pillar of India's heritage.


"Ram Setu" is presented by Prime Video in association with Cape of Good Films and Lyca Productions and is an Abundantia Entertainment Production.

The film is backed by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment), Subaskaran, Mahaveer Jain, and Aashish Singh (Lyca Productions) and Prime Video with Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi ("Samrat Prithviraj") as its creative producer.

Zee Studios has distributed "Ram Setu" in theatres worldwide.

This year has been quite awful for Akshay, as the actor has delivered four flops already. His movie Cuttputli has had the lowest viewership among the movies streamed on OTT platforms. The movie is a remake of the hit Tamil film "Ratsasan", which took a bashing at the money table primarily due to the "boycott Bollywood" campaign by netizens.

However Akshay Kumar seems to have changed his fortunes around with Ram Setu. The film is said to be doing better than Ajay Devgn's 'Thank God'. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, 'Ram Setu', which hit the theatres after Diwali on October 25, has raked in Rs 15.25 crore at the box office on day 1 of the release. At 8.10 crore, Thank God minted much less than the Akshay Kumar's movie.
