Ram Charan calls S.S. Rajamouli 'India’s Steven Spielberg' on Good Morning America

On the programme "Good Morning America", Ram Charan discussed the popularity of RRR, S.S. Rajamouli, and his anxiety about becoming a "new dad". Ram Charan, who is in the United States ahead of the Academy Awards in 2023, was invited to appear on the popular talk show Good Morning America in New York. When Ram Charan came from the show, he was surrounded by admirers outside the venue.

He spoke of the film and Rajamouli, “RRR is a film about great Brotherhood and friendship. It is about the two main characters (Ram and Bheem). It is also one of Rajamouli’s best pieces of writing. He is often referred to as India’s Steven Spielberg. I am rooting for him to break into international film.”

Ram Charan explained that he does not have much time to deal with his fear of becoming a father right now because he travels a lot. “I am doing a lot of packing because of travelling”. He went on to say that his wife, Upasana, will spend a lot of time in the United States before the baby arrives.


The song Naatu Naatu from S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR has been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song.

RRR, a fictional drama set in the 1920s during the pre-independence era, was released in theatres in March 2022. During its theatrical run, RRR grossed more than 1000 crore. The film will be re-released in the United States on March 3, 2023, just in time for the Oscars.
