Rajinikanth's July 13 rebirth: Tamil superstar continues to reign in Kollywood

Renowned as the box office king of Kollywood, Superstar Rajinikanth has maintained his position as the top actor in the Tamil film industry, even in his seventies. However, his enduring presence owes much to a significant date - July 13.

While this date holds no particular significance for most people, it carries a profound meaning for Rajinikanth's fans, who consider it the day of his "rebirth."


The significance of July 13 traces back to a few years ago when the legendary actor faced a serious health issue that necessitated hospitalization, leaving fans anxiously awaiting his return. Following treatment for a kidney ailment caused by exhaustion from shooting his film 'Rana,' Rajinikanth made an extraordinary recovery and arrived back in India from Singapore on July 13.

Born on December 12, 1950, Rajinikanth reigned as the king of the silver screen throughout the 1990s, capturing the hearts of audiences.

During his health scare, concerns arose among his devoted fans that their beloved superstar might retire from the industry. However, their worries were put to rest when Rajinikanth returned to the limelight shortly after his recovery, continuing to entertain his admirers.

Rajinikanth's upcoming project is the film 'Jailer,' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Tamannah Bhatia, Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Tiger Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, and Yogi Babu. The movie, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, is scheduled for release in theaters on August 10.

Following 'Jailer,' Rajinikanth has committed to his 170th film under the direction of TJ Gnanavel. Additionally, he recently completed shooting his cameo role as Moideen Bhai in Aishwarya Rajinikanth's 'Lal Salaam' on July 12, further solidifying his presence in the Indian film industry.
