Rajinikanth, Jr. NTR to attend late Puneeth Rajkumar's Karnataka Ratna award ceremony

The late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar will be posthumously awarded the "Karnataka Ratna" award on November 1. According to State Revenue Minister R Ashoka, Tamil cinema star Rajinikanth and Telugu cinema star Junior NTR will also attend the function.

Ashoka said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai would want this year's Karnataka Ratna, the highest civilian honour granted by the state, to be particularly notable. Preparations have been going on for the past ten days for the function to be held in Bengaluru.

According to reports, Rajinikanth initially expressed his unwillingness to attend the function two days ago. However, later he gave his consent. He was raised in Karnataka and once worked as a bus conductor for the Bangalore Transport Service before he became a superstar in Tamil cinema.

Puneeth Rajkumar: Actor, philanthropist

Puneeth Rajkumar will be given the Karnataka Ratna award on November 1 at 4 p.m. The event will take place on the steps of Vidhana Soudha, and renowned playback singer Vijay Prakash and his companions will perform. Over 5,000 passes would be distributed.

Ashoka claimed that Puneeth Rajkumar was not only a superb artist but also a well-known philanthropist. By emulating his father, Dr Rajkumar, he rose to prominence in the Kannada film industry.
