Krishna is currently Director General (DG) of Vigilance in the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.
According to a government spokesperson, the 1991-batch IPS officer has been appointed as the new Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh.
Krishna will replace DGP Prashant Kumar who retires on Saturday.

A 1991-batch IPS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, Krishna is currently serving as the Director General (DG) of Vigilance in the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board. He will take over from Prashant Kumar, who retires on Saturday.Krishna, a B.E. graduate in Electronics and Communication, hails from Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, and is due to retire in June 2029.
Now stepping into the top post, Krishna is expected to bring his experience in vigilance, recruitment, and field policing to the helm of Uttar Pradesh Police.
