The Raja Raghuvanshi murder case in Indore, involving Raj Kushwaha, has sent shockwaves across the country, attracting significant public attention amid conflicting narratives. The case took a new twist following the surrender of the main accused, Sonam, Raja's wife, in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and the arrest of three other suspects during coordinated police operations in Meghalya.

"I don't believe my 20-year-old son could have done anything like this," said Raj Kushwaha's mother, speaking to reporters. "He is the sole breadwinner of our family. During the day, he worked at a cloth market, came home for dinner in the evening, and then left early in the morning to deliver newspapers. He hardly had any time for himself, let alone for anything wrong."

Kushwaha's sister also spoke in his defense, claiming that her brother is innocent. "This is a conspiracy by the police to frame him. Even the media is publishing fabricated reports about him. None of it is true," she said.

Speaking to IANS on Monday, Sonam’s father Devi Singh Raghuvanshi claimed the local police were destroying crucial evidence. “Help has been sent from Bhopal, but without CBI involvement, there won’t be any progress. The scooty's phone, raincoats and other items were found near the body—how did they get there if the incident occurred elsewhere?”

Meghalaya police in a press release confirmed that Sonam surrendered in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Three men accused of carrying out the murder were arrested in overnight raids.

Authorities have stated that Sonam executed her husband's murder by hiring contract killers during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Her surrender was reportedly prompted by consistent pressure from a coordinated multi-state investigation.
