Raj Thackeray’s party issues threat to Pakistan actor Fawad Khan’s film release in India

Fawad Khan, the Pakistani actor, has often come under attack in India. His new release is also facing attack from Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The movie, 'The Legend of Maula Jatt', was released in Pakistan and other countries in October, while the Indian release is impending.

Why is MNS threatening the release of the Fawad Khan movie?
Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, the political party of Raj Thackeray, has often issued threats to Pakistani actors and their involvement in Indian cinema. The party has issued public threats for Fawad Khan and all the viewers of his movie. MNS has said the fans of the actor are “traitors”.

MNS media wing president Ameya Khopkar threatened that they will do everything in their power to stop the movie’s release in India. Khopkar argues that those who watch Fawad Khan's movies are traitors and can go to Pakistan if they are interested in watching his films.


The politician has further hinted that they will not let his movie be released anywhere in India. Khopkar said that it is annoying that an Indian company is planning to release his film 'The Legend of Maula Jatt', but as soon as they get an order from Raj Thackeray, they will not have his movie released anywhere in India.

Following the terrorist kjattacks on Pakistani soil in recent years, relations between the two countries have been strained. Pakistani actors have been stopped from acting in Indian films. Hence, the release of their films will also be in jeopardy.
