According to City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Mayank Gurjar, a police team made a crucial interception late last night, halting an ambulance that raised suspicions. Upon inspection, an astounding amount of cannabis was discovered, marking a major seizure in Raipur's fight against illegal narcotics.
The interception took place within the jurisdiction of the Amanaka police station. The officer overseeing the operation detailed that the haul amounted to over 364 kilograms of cannabis, valued at approximately ₹36 lakh.
The arrested individual, identified as Suraj Khute, a 22-year-old from Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, was found to be the alleged perpetrator, as confirmed by the CSP.
During the course of the investigation, Khute disclosed procuring the contraband from Odisha and transporting it to Baloda Bazaar. This revelation has sparked further inquiries into the network and its operations.
