R Madhavan is all set for the release of his upcoming film Aap Jaisa Koi with Fatima Sana Shaikh. The trailer has caught attention for its fresh and unusual story.

At the trailer launch, Madhavan spoke about rumours surrounding his youthful look and his journey to fitness.

Madhavan on his young appearance

People have been wondering if Madhavan used de-ageing technology to look younger in the film.


But as per a TOI report he cleared the air by saying, “They’ve all been accusing me of de-ageing, but I don't think I have the budget for that. It hasn’t happened.”

How he lost weight

Madhavan shared how he struggled to lose weight during the shoot of Saala Khadoos in 2016. “I met many dieticians who gave me different food charts, but none of it felt right,” he said.

Finally, an old-school fitness expert gave him simple advice, eat only when hungry.

Madhavan stopped following fixed meal times and this helped him lose weight naturally.

The film will be released on OTT on 11 July. In the movie, Madhavan plays a Sanskrit teacher in his 40s, who meets Fatima’s character for an arranged marriage.

She is in her 30s. The film highlights the value of love over age or social rules, and how the main couple deals with his old-fashioned family.
