Putrada Ekadashi holds great importance in Sanatan Dharma and is observed every year on the Ekadashi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Sawan (Shravan). Devotees worship Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on this day and observe a fast in their honour. The vrat is believed to bring unfailing and eternal rewards, and with Lord Vishnu’s blessings, one can attain Moksha.

As per religious beliefs, keeping the Putrada Ekadashi fast can bless childless couples with a child. Newly married couples are also encouraged to observe this vrat. It is said that even regular devotees who observe the fast with devotion have their wishes fulfilled and receive the divine blessings of Lakshmi-Narayan.

Putrada Ekadashi Shubh Muhurat

As per the Vedic calendar, the Ekadashi tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Sawan will commence at 11:41 AM on 4th August and conclude at 1:12 PM on 5th August. In Sanatan tradition, the observance of Ekadashi is determined based on the sunrise (Udaya Tithi), and therefore, Putrada Ekadashi will be observed on 5th August 2025. Devotees may take a holy bath and perform rituals dedicated to Lakshmi-Narayan Ji at a suitable time during this period.


Putrada Ekadashi Parana Timing

The fast for Putrada Ekadashi will be broken on 6th August, with the Parana window lasting from 5:45 AM to 8:26 AM. During this time, devotees are advised to bathe and offer prayers to Lakshmi-Narayan Ji. After the devotional rituals, they may conclude the fast by donating food and performing acts of charity.

This year, Putrada Ekadashi will align with the auspicious Indra Yoga, along with the formation of Bhadraavas Yoga. On this day, Bhadra will remain in Swarga Lok until 11:43 AM before transitioning to Patal Lok. Worshipping Lakshmi-Narayan Ji while Bhadra resides in either Swarga or Patal is believed to bring blessings and fulfill devotees’ heartfelt wishes.
