The case came to light after police intercepted suspicious vehicles in Bahadurgarh and apprehended three suspects on April 1, successfully rescuing the infant. Station House Officer Jameel Ahmed stated that the baby was first taken to a community health centre in Jhajjar and later referred to a central care facility in Rewari after initial evaluation. “The baby is healthy and under constant medical supervision,” he confirmed.
The four newly arrested accused have been identified as Sandeep Pawar from Ballabhgarh, Rudra Pratap Singh from Raipur, Vijay from Greater Noida West, and Mohan Panchal from Delhi-Ghaziabad. All were arrested in Bahadurgarh and presented before a court on Tuesday, which remanded them to five days of police custody.
Police officials revealed that the trafficking targeted vulnerable, childless couples through social media platforms, offering illegal adoption deals in exchange for hefty payments. Raids are ongoing to nab the absconding kingpin and other members of the syndicate, as well as potential buyers linked to the racket.
