A petrol station in Punjab has captured the attention of the internet for using lyrics from singer AP Dhillon’s songs to attract customers. A Bharat Petroleum pump in Jalandhar has an LED screen that displays the lyrics of Dhillon’s hit song “Excuses” with a twist.


The clip was captured at Bharat Petro Point in Jalandhar, Punjab, according to an Instagram user. “POV: Indian petrol stations are on a different level of marketing”, reads the text insert on the video. Other images of the location were also included in the post. After being posted online, the video received over two million views. Instagram users were clearly divided and expressed their feelings in the comments section.




The video begins with an LED display board flashing lyrics from AP Dhillon’s hit song “Excuses” but with a twist. The message on the display board reads, “Kehndi hundi si, tank full karade”.


The video amused Instagram users, who couldn't stop laughing. Many others praised the petrol pump’s marketing strategy. Others flooded the comment section with heart and laugh emojis.

The song “Excuses” sparked an online trend called “Kehndi Hundi Si” last year. The line means “she used to say”. Several brands jumped on the trend and created some hilarious memes for their social media accounts. Some of the brands that participated in the trend were Zomato, Mother Dairy, Dunzo, IndiGo, and Swiggy.
