Pune woman punches husband to death for not taking her to Dubai for birthday celebration

In a shocking incident in Maharashtra's Pune, a woman allegedly punched her husband to death for not taking her to Dubai for birthday celebration.

The incident unfolded in Pune's Wanavdi area, where the 36-year-old man lost his life after being punched on the nose by his wife.

The tragic incident occurred at the couple's apartment in a posh residential society on Friday. The victim, identified as Nikhil Khanna, was a businessman in the construction industry. He had been married to his wife, Renuka (38), for six years.


According to a senior police officer from Wanavdi Police station, the couple had a heated argument because Nikhil refused to take Renuka to Dubai for her birthday celebration. Additionally, he did not lavish her with expensive gifts on her birthday and anniversary. Renuka was also displeased with Nikhil for not agreeing to her request to travel to Delhi to celebrate the birthdays of some relatives.

During the altercation, Renuka delivered a forceful punch to Nikhil's face, resulting in a broken nose and several damaged teeth. The impact of the blow was so severe that Nikhil lost consciousness due to heavy bleeding.

After being informed by their neighbours, a police team reached the spot and took the victim to the Sassoon General Hospital, where he was declared dead. The police is now investigating whether the woman hit her husband using only her fist or some object. Cops also said that the exact cause of death will be known only after the autopsy.

The Wanavdi Police have subsequently registered a case against Renuka under IPC Section 302 and have taken her into custody for further investigation into the matter.
