— Ashneer Grover (@Ashneer_Grover) 1681660711000Zomato-owned quick commerce platform Blinkit has reportedly shut down over 100 dark kitchens in Delhi-NCR regions of Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Noida, and Greater Noida due to the ongoing delivery worker strikes. The Delivery executives are opposing a change in their compensation system, which they allege will result in lower profits. Thousands of workers are protesting and claiming that the new payout structure would halve their income and make their jobs unsustainable.
Blinkit operates approximately 400 dark stores in 20 cities throughout the country, with a significant presence in the Delhi-NCR region, where half of its stores are located.
What is Blinkit’s new payout plan?
As per the recently revised payout structure, delivery partners will receiver Rs 15 instead of Rs 25 for each delivery. The delivery partners feel that this will considerably reduce their earnings.
