Prithvi Shaw gets back together with Akriti Agarwal after engagement split; she says ‘together, we are enough for each other’

Akriti Agarwal has confirmed that she and cricketer Prithvi Shaw have patched up, weeks after announcing that they had called off their engagement. In a new statement shared on Instagram, Akriti revealed that the couple had discussed their differences and decided to give their relationship another chance.

Akriti also reflected on the circumstances that led to their separation, acknowledging that the opinions of people close to her had influenced her perception of Prithvi and their relationship. The announcement comes less than a month after she publicly confirmed their split in September. The couple got engaged earlier this year.

Titled “A personal clarification", Akriti's latest Instagram statement addressed the reasons behind her decision.


“When I called off our engagement, I let the opinions of people close to me — who seemed to know our relationship better than we did — influence how I saw my fiancé and our relationship. I feel I was misguided, and I made a decision without giving us the honest conversation we deserved," she wrote.

Taking responsibility for her earlier decision, Akriti added, “I take responsibility for that decision and the hurt it caused."

‘We have since spoken openly’: Akriti on getting back together

Akriti further revealed that she and Prithvi had since discussed their differences, understood each other's perspectives and decided to reunite.

“We have since spoken openly, understood each other and chosen to be together again," her statement read.

She also emphasised that the couple wanted to prioritise their relationship and make decisions based on their mutual understanding rather than outside opinions.

“Together, we are enough for each other, and we don’t need anyone else."

“This time, I want our future to be guided by our own understanding, trust and love," she wrote.

Concluding her statement, Akriti requested privacy and respect as the couple begins a new chapter in their relationship. “Please respect our decision as we begin again."
